The Richard Mike Brown Award
The award is dedicated to the memory and honor of Richard "Mike" Brown, a Dawson County resident known by three names. Richard Brown
- a community activist known by his editorial name as a wit, a wordsmith, and a humanitarian who cared about Dawson County, its environment, and its people.
Mike Brown
- a business owner known as an articulate and intelligent person, a friend to all who knew him in Dawson County… "A Man Who Cared."
LowGo Brown
- a thinker known by his internet name as an asset to people, as a man who made you think when you didn’t want to, contentious, well spoken, immeasurable kindness and compassion…from those who knew him across the United States and Canada…A Common Theme…"He Cared."
The Dawson County Homeowners Association (DCHOA) created this memorial award, entitled "You Care" to recognize Dawson Countians who demonstrate by actions, deeds, or written words that they care about our community, our environment, and above all else, our people. The recipient must also be a resident of Dawson County.
